Today's Readings for October 27th 2022
Todays reading Luke 13:31-35 Speaks about persevering in the mission, having a heart open to others and praying for those who persecute you. Jesus knows what he has to do and even though he found opposition on his journey to Jerusalem he persevered on his journey. Jesus wept for Jerusalem. His heart was not closed to them. He was not absorbed in himself or his own problems. Jesus sets an example for us to follow. Our hearts should not be closed either. We need to be open to the needs of those around us and even to those who attack the church. The first reading Eph 6:10-20 This reading is about putting on the armor of God so that we will be able to stand against the tactics of the Devil. For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, the evil spirits in the heavens.
